Welcome to my website! Since I was young, I loved the black and white keys. But I also love to create sounds! The music of Jean-Michel Jarre has been a big influence on my musical taste. But also the Berlin School of EM has been a source of inspiration.
Since I was 12, I have been creating my own music and I have released two albums: Pythagoras in 2012 and Mirrorland in 2013.
On this website I will keep you up to date on my musical journey and share some nice music with you.
Enjoy the music!
On April 16th was E-Day 2016, again held in De Enck, Oirschot. It was a special day for me because I got the chance again to perform again as a guest musician on John Kerr and Ron Boots' concert. I already joined them in their concert held in Bochum last year, but this concert was even more special because it also included guest musicians Bas Broekhuis and John Dyson. Of course Harold van der Heijden and Frank Dorittke were also present, like in Bochum. The concert consisted mostly of tracks from John and Ron's album 'Juxtaposition', but we also played a track from John Kerr, a track from John Dyson, and one of my own tracks: Mirrorland Part 8 - Artificial Infinity.
All in all, E-Day 2016 was really succesful. A day filled with great concerts (especially Kebu) and a good overall atmosphere. It was a great experience to perform with John Kerr and Ron Boots again. I hope you all enjoyed the day too. See you later!

Yesterday was the Hello 2016 concert in the Bochum planetarium. It was a very special evening, because John Kerr and Ron Boots were on stage together again. They presented their new album 'Juxtaposition', which is for sale at www.grooveunlimited.nl. Harold van der Heijden provided the drums, and the concert featured guest performances by Frank Dorittke (F.D. Project) and me.
It was a great experience to be part of this project and to get the chance to perform again. I hope everyone who attended the concert enjoyed it as much as I did. See you in 2016!
Finally, an update
It has been quiet lately. I've been busy with school and I spent a bit less time on music. But...I'm still here!
At the moment I’m back on track, making new music, but it’s progressing slowly. I occasionally suffer from a ‘writers block’.
Despite everything I got some really great news! Recently Ron Boots announced that he and John Kerr are working on a new album. And I was asked to join as a guest musician on the album! How cool is that! I feature on one track. And in addition to that I will also join the concert in the planetarium in Bochum on December 30 for a some tracks!
It’s a wonderful experience, working with these extraordinary musicians, and great persons.
25 years ago, John Kerr and Ron Boots collaborated on the album Offshore Islands. It has been quiet for a long time from John Kerr, but now he’s back for a special album.
I will try to bring more updates as soon as there is more news about the album and the concert. So keep a close eye on this project, because it's going to be very special.
A look back on E-Live 2014
Back home and rested after a fantastic E-Live 2014. The day started early, to build up my set. It was the second performance I did and the first time playing in the main hall. When I arrived, there was noone, so I had all the time and space to build up. When everthing was set up and wired, we did a soundcheck. Then I had some time to chat with people, browse through some cd’s and get ready for my performance.
At 14:30 Ron announced the first artist and I got behind my synths. The hall was filled with around 200 people, which was really amazing and I enjoyed playing there. After two songs, I did an improvisation on the Nord Stage, then I played two more songs. In total I played three songs from my album Mirrorland and one brand new song. After I finished my set and got a huge applause, I played one encore, another piano improvisation on the Nord Stage. Then my performance was done. It went by really fast, but I had a great time playing there!
After that, The Roswell Incident had their set, which I also watched a bit of. Then, at the break, I was at my stand, selling my CD’s (of course!) and my ‘roadies’ broke down my instruments, to make room for the next to performers. Next up, after the break, was Gert Emmens, who played a great set and closing the evening was Manuel Göttsching, one of the founding fathers of EM.
I met a lot of nice people and had a nice chat with John Dyson, who gave me some good advice. Of course I sold some more CD’s and when the festival was over, a few of us went out for a really late night dinner and had shoarma! That was fun, but also necessary, as I had been so busy with th
e show and chatting with people I missed the dinner!
After a good nights rest, I look back on a fantastic day. It was a real privilege to open the E-Live festival and play for so many people. Now I am going to re-build my
studio and get back to working on some new music. And on the recordings of the show, as my performance was filmed with 3 HD camera’s, so we will view the material and definitely put something on YouTube, but we might look for something special with the footage…
These are the songs I played:
The First Frontier (Mirrorland part 1)
Time Windows (Mirrorland part 7)
Artificial Infinity (Mirrorland part 8)
Out of Reality (new track)
Encore: Improvisation #2
This year's E-Live festival will be a very special day for me, since I will be performing on the main stage. This will be my second live performance. E-Live is on October 18 in De Enck, Oirschot near Eindhoven. Setlist and setup are ready and I'm already very busy with the rehearsals. But only two days are left to buy your tickets. So if you want to come, don't hesitate and buy your ticket so you can enjoy a whole day of fantastic electronic music. I hope to see you all there!
Mirrorland - Out now!
Last weekend was the E-Live festival and the release of my new album Mirrorland! A few days before the festival, Groove Unlimited let us know the CD's were in, so of course we picked up a few copies...and the album looks fantastic! Now that we see the artwork printed, wow!
It was great to have a stall at E-Live and meet all the people who came for a copy of the album! Of course many fans bought the album, but also fellow musicians like Phil Booth and Steve Smith, who also performed on the festival, picked up a copy...and the love it!
Did you get your copy at the festival? Of course I am curious to hear what you all think of the album, now that you can hear it in its entirety!. Paul Rijkens will review it for the iO Pages magazine!! How cool is that!
If you haven't gotten your copy yet, just hop over to the Groove Unlimited website and order your copy today! You can simply click here: http://www.groove.nl/index2.html
Here I am with Frank Dorittke, who played a great guitarsolo on my album:
And with Steve Smith (VoLt, The Tylas Syndrome)
If you have the album, feel free to drop me a line on my facebook page and let me know what you think of the album!
At last...the new album is ready!
I am very proud to let you know my new album, Mirrorland - The Land of No Limitations, is finally ready! Well...it needs to be pressed, but the music and the artwork are finished. In january 2012 I started working on the songs that would become the Mirrorland album. So it is great to see the work is now done and soon you can enjoy the music.
Let's start with the artwork. I am really proud to present you the cover of Mirrorland. You can click on it to see a larger version. This cover has been created by Paul Tippett of Vitamin P. He has created some really beautiful prog rock album covers and I was very happy that he was willing to do a cover for Mirrorland. What do you think of it? Please visit his website to see his other work as well: http://www.vitaminp.co.uk.
But we have more news about the album! Late 2012 I got in touch with Gert Emmens, initially for my live debut on E-Day 2013. I asked him to add drums to a track I was working on. The live show went very well and one of the songs worked out so good, that I decided to include it on the album. Since Gert played on this song in the live setting, I asked him to also contribute to this song on the album.
And it doesn't end there. When working on a track, I tried to do a guitar bit myself, but that didn't work. Ron Boots suggested to ask Frank Dorittke for the guitar part. Well, it is safe to say Frank added an awesome guitarsolo to this track.
In case you are interested in the tracks, here is the tracklisting:
Part 1: The First Frontier (featuring Gert Emmens)
Part 2: Another Perspective
Part 3: Maze of Confusion
Part 4: Mirrorland (featuring Frank Dorittke)
Part 5: Into the Unknown
Part 6: Voyage Without Limitations
Part 7: Time Windows
Part 8: Artificial Infinity (featuring Gert Emmens)
The official release will be October 19th, at the E-Live festival in Oirschot (The Netherlands). Check www.e-live.nl for the details. Of course I will be there and you can buy the album directly from me at the festival. I'll even sign it if you like :-)
But you can also pre-order it from my label, Groove Unlimited. Click on this link: http://www.groove.nl/cd/g/gr-203.html

You may have already seen them floating around facebook or on the Synthex YouTube channel, but the videos from the live performance at the E-Day festival are now also availble for viewing here, on the official Synbthex website. We will post all performed songs in the Watch section, in the right order and per set.
We started with the first set. Four songs are available: Analogue Solutions, Hitchhiker in Space, Modulator and Mirrorland part 2. Two more will be added soon. At the E-Day festival, Synthex performed a few tracks from teh upcoming new album, Mirrorland, so be sure to check out the songs, so you can get an impression of the new album.
It was fantastic to have none other than Gert Emmens joining in on many tracks, creating a great sound together. Gert, thank you so much, it was great!
Synthex - To Berlin (Live at E-Day 2013)
Here it is: the first video of the live debut of Synthex. During his performance Gert Emmens played on several songs and this song really shows how well they played together, as this is an improvisation. Enjoy & share!
Looking back at E-Day
Last Saturday was E-Day, where I performed in the upper room. This was my very first live performance. The day started quite early. Around 10 AM we started setting the gear up and soundchecking. I was supported by none other than Gert Emmens, who did a fantastic job. We played a track from my debut album, Pythagoras, some covers, improvisations and a few tracks from my new upcoming album.
At 13:15 the first set started. Over 80 people were there, so you can imagine it was very crowded. Also the other two sets were attended by a lot of people. I was a little bit nervous, but apart from that we had a great time. It was also great that I could use Ron’s modular system and Gert’s Multimoog. I also enjoyed the acts in the main hall very much, and met a lot of new friends.
At the end of the day we looked back to an amazing day filled with lots of great music and I can’t wait till E-Live in October.
All my sets were filmed and over the next days/weeks, we will bring all the songs I performed to you.
